A busy week

This week seems to have flown by, lots going on. I worked an extra day this week so only had a couple of days free, one of which was spent driving back from Somerset and sorting out everything when we arrived home and one spent at a family celebration.

I also rejoined Slimming World this week so have been busy producing a menu plan and shopping for the week, I hope by planning what I am going to eat in advance it will help keep me on track - wish me luck!

On Thursday it was my Aunt and Uncle's diamond (60th) wedding anniversary. We were invited to join them for a celebratory lunch, it was great to meet up with family and friends again and help them celebrate this momentous occasion. It was also my Uncle's 86th birthday - my Aunt wanted to get married on his birthday so that he didn't ever forget their anniversary!

Out of the 45 guests there were 11 of us that were at their wedding 60 years ago. I was only 5 months old at the time so obviously don't remember the day but it was lovely to feel that I had been part of it.

What a magnificent wedding cake

This week I am only working for two days so hopefully I will be able to get back to some crafting and some walking as I didn't get time for either last week.

  2. Sounds like you've had a very busy week indeed! What lovely family photos - everyone looks so happy, and 60 years of marriage is something to be celebrated. So lovely to see your aunt and uncle's original wedding photos too. I wish you lots of luck with your slimming plans - it's something I need to get back to as well, and you sound very organised. Hope you have a calmer week of creativity :)

  6. What an amazing feat--60 years of wedded bliss :) That is so special that you were also there as a wee baby when they married, Jan! Best of luck with Slimming World (I assume that is like Weight Watchers here in the U.S.?)...

I am trying to get rid of the extra weight I have gained by being on steroids for 2/3months as well as the puffy face I now have! Good luck I am sure you will do it your determination will get you through. Chris xx
