A Visit To The City

We woke up to a wonderful sunny morning today and decided to visit Salisbury, the main purpose for this choice was to visit Lakeland so that I could buy some new kitchen paraphernalia to use in our new kitchen (when it is finally finished). We parked in the central carpark and walked into the city beside the river. Spotted a water vole but it was too quick for me and I didn't manage to get a photo. You will have to make do with a mallard and a moorhen instead!

Walking into the sun made taking photographs difficult so had to wait until we crossed the river to take a couple of views.

As we were passing a market greengrocer's stall I couldn't resist taking a photo of this box of peppers, the colours looked fantastic in the sunshine.

Once across the river we arrived at Lakeland where I am afraid I spent far too much money but am really pleased with my purchases and now cannot wait for to start using everything (only another couple of weeks). We struggled to carry the three very large and heavy carrier bags back to the car but made it eventually. There are still a few things I need to buy but they were out of stock so I feel an online order coming on.

After getting the main business of the trip out of the way we still had quite a lot of time left on the carpark ticket so decided to go for a walk by the river to the water meadows.

We will take another walk out to the water meadows in the summer and take a picnic with us as it was a lovely spot but too cold to sit for long today so we decided to motor out of Salisbury and enjoy a pub lunch on the way home.

I will be back with more "ramblings" soon.

    1. It certainly is Colly, I am having fun choosing things. I do love the Lakeland shop but it is easy to spend money in there.

  2. Hello Jan, Stuning photos, I've not been to Salisbury but it looks fantastic. I do like the idea of shopping beside the river, and those peppers look mouthwatering. Lovely photos of the bridge and viaduct, and a brilliant tree photo.

I too buy kitchen goods at Lakeland, and hope your kitchen is almost finished. When we had our kitchen
    fitted I couldn't find a thing afterwards.

  5. Hi Jan, thank you for visiting my blog :) I grew up not too far from Salisbury,so know it a bit. We like the cathedral cafe! I must admit that I can't be trusted to go into Lakeland for 'just one thing' because I'm in danger of buying half the shop! Lovely photos too :)
